Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
We live in a world that rewards hiding sin, because we reward based on performance, not based on vulnerability, brokenness, living right before God. The world rewards this way, but God our Father does not reward this way. Transparent, honest, confession of our sins is met with vast mercy on a scale I cannot describe in words.
It is mercy that carries power (grace), mercy that includes justice, and mercy that keeps our opportunity going to believe in the Son of God and experience salvation and reconciled relationship with God. Hiding sin sabotages our hearts, and betrays Christ Jesus.
