Proverbs 26:15-16 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
Laziness has become elusive in our culture today. At a glance I think, “How could anyone be lazy, everyone is always so busy!” Unfortunately, we tend to forget that being busy is a great place for lazy to hide. The Messiah Yahshua knew this, because He said of false prophets, “By their fruit you will recognise them. Do people pick grapes from throne-bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” (Matthew 7:16-17)
Laziness can be at the helm of the busiest of people, but rest assured you will know it by its fruit. Also of note, rest is not the same thing as lazy.
Laziness is a spiritual attack. It is an apathy that is never quenched for no particular reason. Rest is from the LORD! “Come all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. (Matthew 11:28)
“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it. The keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph’s charge, because the Lord was with him. And whatever he did, the Lord made it succeed.”
