Proverbs 18:8-9

Proverbs 18:8-9
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

These two verses compliment each other because a person who is slothful is often guilty of gossip.

Perhaps this is why idle hands cause decay (Ecclesiastes 10:18). The issue here is integrity and realising the damage of haphazard words.

People who gossip are often hasty about their speech, and their listening skills peak only when they are being fed more "choice morsels" to share with others. Satan wants false rumours and harmful tales about people to spread like wildfire. This paves the way for wreck-less guilt and shame: deceivers who want you to believe lies instead of Yahashua.
