Proverbs 18:24

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

This verse, I think of Yahshua as an example of a friend who sticks "closer than a brother". In fact, Yahshua calls those who do what He commands friends: John 15:13-14 "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command."

Throughout life, we come across many different people, and we don't share the same kind of relationship and thoughts with everyone. The criteria for friendship though is not only about time or quality, but also about accountability, bearing one another's burdens, being willing to stand by each other through tough times, and perhaps confront one another!

May the Messiah bless you with the best kind of friendships in your life, and allow Him to be the foundation of those bonds.

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "You sit here in a good place," while you say to the poor man, "You stand over there," or, "Sit down at my feet," have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?” (James 2:1-5), 'Judgement'
