Proverbs 10:17

Proverbs 10:17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

The design for the church “gathering of God people” is to live and work together. This means that there are times when one believer will have to confront another, in love, with correction. Throughout this process, forgiveness and mercy must abound in order for relationships to continue to thrive. Another necessary part of relationship though, is the ability to receive correction and rebuke from our family in Christ.

Jesus rebuked Peter, and when Christ was healing people, the word rebuke is sometimes used as a form of casting out what needed to be expelled. 2 Timothy 4:2 teaches, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.”

“Because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel,” (Colossians 1:5), ‘Salvation’
