Proverbs 17:26

Proverbs 17:26 Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.

This is what happened to Jesus the Christ.  He was righteous, upright, honorable, sinless.  Yet, He was betrayed by one of His disciples, delivered into great punishment by the very people who He came to save.  Persecution is a reality.  Every person that is persecuted for believing in Christ is being attacked by evil.

Evil would have their hearts turn from God our Father and curse Him, or simply give up on their lives lived for Jesus.  Every time a Christian stands firm in their faith with uprightness in the face of persecution, God is glorified.  Perfect justice is guaranteed at the throne of grace.
