Proverbs 29:6

Proverbs 29:6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

A righteous person escapes the eternal consequences of sin, therefore they have reason to sing and rejoice. Nobody is “righteous” on their own, rather, they receive the righteousness of Christ when they believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The truth is that God provides a way to escape temptation. Whether it be taking the way out, or repenting of falling to a sin, a believer has hope in Christ to escape without being trapped into sin. An “evil person” cannot escape, because they do not realise they are sinning.

Our message to them must be of hope and love, from a God who forgives.

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” (Matthew 25:13 ), ‘Temptation’
